Terms of Service

Updated September 14, 2026

By accessing or using PantryScan, you agree to these Terms of Service.

1. Acceptable Use

Use PantryScan only for lawful purposes. Do not attempt to access another household without authorization, bypass service protections, interfere with operation, abuse external integrations, or intentionally submit malicious content.

2. Household Sharing

Joining a household makes certain pantry, receipt, shopping, and analytics information visible to other members of that household. Household invite codes should be treated as private access credentials and shared only with people you intend to join.

3. User Content and Data Processing

You retain ownership of content you submit. You authorize PantryScan to store and process that content as necessary to provide requested features, including processing by service providers described in the Privacy Policy.

4. AI, Product, and Receipt Accuracy

Receipt extraction, product normalization, dietary classification, and other AI-assisted or third-party data can be incorrect, incomplete, or outdated. Review extracted receipt information before saving important corrections.

5. Allergy and Dietary Safety

Do not rely on PantryScan as the sole basis for an allergy or medical safety decision. A result such as “No Known Conflict” means PantryScan did not identify a conflict from the information available; it is not a guarantee that the product is allergen-free. Packaging, recipes, facilities, and third-party databases can change. Always verify the current label and manufacturer guidance.

6. Service Availability

PantryScan is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Features that depend on outside services may be unavailable or delayed when those providers fail, throttle requests, or change their data.

7. Account and Data Controls

You may export your account-linked data or request deletion through the controls provided in PantryScan. Shared household facts may be anonymized rather than destroyed when another household member has a legitimate shared-history interest, as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, PantryScan and its operators are not responsible for losses resulting from inaccurate receipt extraction, product metadata, dietary classification, availability of third-party services, or decisions made without independently verifying important information.
